DUCTWORK
Generally, our ductwork is manufactured from galvanised sheet and is of the ‘lipped’ variety where a 6mm flange is turned on the end of each component for attachment to its adjacent component with a tension clip or bolted captive flange. This method ensures a rigid assembly with smooth snag-free bore and readily facilitates installation and subsequent modification or relocation.
Standard diameters are 80, 100, 120, 150, 180, 200, 225, 250, 275, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500, 550, 600, 650, 750 etc.
Standard ductwork components are straight duct in 2m lengths ( 80 – 200 dia) and 1.25m lengths (225 dia and larger), bends (30° , 45° , 60° , 90°), reducers, single branches, double branches, trouser pieces, slide dampers, hangers etc.
Machine Hoods
We specialise in the manufacture of purpose made machine exhaust hoods for optimum dust extraction efficiency. These are generally made to order although we have standard hoods for many common machines. Construction is usually from galvanised or black mild steel sheet and finished in our standard colour.
FLEXIBLE HOSE
We offer one code of flexible hose designed specifically for woodwork dust control applications. It comprises a PVC coated spring steel helix trapped between a 2 ply translucent polyurethane liner and cover.
This specification provides a smooth bore (minimising resistance to airflow), greater resistance to abrasive wear than any available comparable product and combines lightness with a very high degree of flexibility and is therefore ideal for machines of every type.
Flex collars fit inside the flexible hose and are lipped one end for standard jointing clip to our range of products. A flexible hose clip is available to secure the flex to the collar.
Stayput Hose & Accessories
Ideal for routers, disc sanders, bandsaws etc, ‘Stayput’ hose can be orientated to the most effective position for waste capture. It is self-supporting and will remain in any position as desired by the operator. A standard kit consists of a 900 mm length of 3″ hose, a captor hood and a lipped connection to 100 mm dia rigid ductwork.
FILTERS
At WDCC we supply a range of filters generally in terylene needlefelt which is the most applicable for general woodworking. Specialised filter media are available for particular applications. Filters may be of a standard size or tailor-made to order to suit most makes and models for system.
IMPELLERS
Using our own manufacturing equipment, we produce our own balanced 6 bladed paddle impellers in mild steel. Standard sizes range from 12″ – 42″ diameter but they can be tailor-made to order.
WASTE COLLECTION BAGS
We stock tough 400 gauge polythene collection bags to fit a standard 20″ diameter spigot and suit most makes and models of extraction system. Contact a member of our team to discuss your requirements.
ROTARY VALVES
Our rotary valves are manufactured from heavy gauge mild steel plate. We use 45mm diameter shafts and resilient shot blast quality rubber tipped blades.
A rotary valve is usually attached to the bottom of a discharge hopper on a filter plant and allows wood waste to be deposited into a container or silo at approximately atmospheric pressure. A pair of matching flanges are supplied to facilitate fixing to attendant plant items. An oil filled reduction geared motor drives the rubber tipped valve blades slowing to ensure continuous flow of material through the casing.
FAN UNITS
A complete range of centrifugal paddle-bladed fans can be supplied to suit every application, either from our standard range or purpose manufactured to meet your individual requirements.
