Founded in 1991 by David Bruton, The Woodwork Dust Control Co. LTD has emerged as a prominent player in wood waste control under his dedicated leadership. In its early days, the company operated out of a modest farm outbuilding, with a small workforce primarily engaged in manufacturing dust extraction systems. The conditions were far from luxurious, with limited space and chilly temperatures. Design work was carried out on traditional drawing boards, and everything was painstakingly marked out by hand. Many components, including impellers and unit doors, had to be outsourced due to the company’s limited manufacturing capabilities.

As time passed, the company embarked on a journey to bring the bulk of its manufacturing processes in-house. David played a pivotal role in ushering in a digital transformation, introducing tools like AutoCAD and a CNC plasma cutter. This transition not only enhanced operational efficiency but also conferred the invaluable advantage of agility in responding to the individual needs of our customers. Consequently, reduced dependence on external suppliers. Today, The Woodwork Dust Control Co. boasts a team of 14 skilled professionals, ranging from design engineers to installation and testing experts, all of whom are exceptionally qualified for their specific roles.

In December 2020, marking a significant milestone, David Bruton retired, entrusting the reins of leadership to the capable hands of Victoria Wilson and Timothy Greenwood, who now serve as co-Managing Directors. Both Vicki and Tim have become integral figures within the company in recent years.

Tim’s journey began in the Royal Air Force, where he honed his technical acumen as an Airframe Technician. He joined the WDCC in 1999 as a manufacturer, steadily progressing through the ranks to assume the pivotal position of Manufacturing Manager, and now, Director.

Vicki, on the other hand, held a diverse range of office management and accounting roles before joining The WDCC in 2013 as an account and office manager. Like Tim, she has attained numerous industry-specific qualifications, demonstrating her commitment to professional growth.

With a cumulative experience spanning over 34 years, Vicki and Tim are ready to steer the organisation to new heights. Their shared vision is to not only to offer an unrivalled level of service to both our valued existing clients and new customers but also to provide comprehensive and cost-effective dust extraction solutions across all sectors of timber industry.
